j — We’ve talked a lot about FIRE on 2SFI, but this has always been about something bigger... figuring out what matters to us, and following that thread wherever it leads. The early episodes are fun to revisit because they're an explicit record of just how much we've grown. And your very first trailer... hard to forget that.
I’ve made a career out of learning how to create something from nothing. But the best things I’ve made were never solo efforts. When you work with someone you trust, the outcome isn’t yours or theirs, it’s something entirely new.
Glad it was you on the other side of the screen. Thanks for all your advice over the years, for sticking with it and for helping turn a side project into something that actually matters.
I'm "FIRE-famous!?" Who knew? Haha. I love what you guys have done with the show, and you're pride in creating it is well placed. Your transparency and open conversation on the things that matter brings value to more people than you know. Well done, my friend. Well done.
For sure you are! :) Thanks so much, Fritz. You set a great example on transparency and open exchange, and one that's appreciated by us. We appreciate the kind words and your support
I've learned a lot from you two and your guests about the non-financial side of this project (getting to FIRE and beyond). Thanks for the honesty, vulnerability and the willingness to share your ups and downs.
Jason, I want to add to the list of people saying thank you. You're absolutely correct - there are a ton of folks online that talk about the nuts and bolts of the financial side of RE, but the content you and Eric produce is different. Yes it has exposed me to amazing tools like Karsten's SWR toolbox, but it's also been very insightful on the non-financial side as well. What I've learned from you both absolutely contributed to me feeling comfortable enough in April of 2024 to pull the trigger when offered an early exit package from my long time employer. I sincerely hope you both continue to find value in creating the content. I will definitely continue to find value in consuming it!
I have friends who I know are aware of, and are working hard at FIRE. When we talk from time to time I am quick to mention 2SFI. Knowing the mechanics and means to reaching FIRE is one thing, but to openly disucss the wins and struggles that come along side the journey is priceless. Keep not listening to the haters and miserables, 2SFI rocks! Thanks Jason and Eric!
I also would like to added to the list of folks here to say thank you for and Eric being so open about your journey. I have learned alot from 2 Sides of FI including your excellent videos on how to input all the information into the safe withdrawn spreadsheet as before your video, I was completely overwhelmed by that spreadsheet. Thanks to being open and honest with your thoughts over the last several years, it is greatly appreciated.
Jason - Been great following your journey and I appreciate the balance in your financial discussions and life experiences. It’s great to hear what you have been through on your exit so we can prepare for the emotional transition as much or more than the financial transition. Have you guys ever thought of planning a meet up anywhere? Even online for a live show?
Thanks very much, Ben. A few in our audience have asked but so far admittedly we haven't taken any action on it. Maybe if we attend FinCon or one of the other conferences we should probably attend at some point?

Congrats Jason! Great getting to meet in-person a few times, and it's always helpful to hear the "soft topics" of FI.
Thanks, Drew! Likewise. We should do it again for sure

Yes, the psychology of retirement that you both present is incredibly valuable. Keep up the great work!
