As we plan our move into retirement, some form of through hike is definitely on the cards, so this is really inspiring.
Thank you for the great information! My best friend (she will have just retired, too) and I will begin our walk in late April/early May, 2025 and I came across your blog right after I booked our reservation at what looks like the exact same apartment (480). We are also walking the Senda Litoral way and after day two will switch to the Coastal way. I read that there is a tram (#1) from the Cathedral to Passeio Alegre that will cut off 3.7 miles, but unsure if we will take it. Was walking along the Douro River nice? I look forward to reading the rest of your Camino blog!
*Edit: I think you stayed at Smiling Faces, not 480 Apartamento, where we are booked. Unfortunately, Smiling Faces didn't have any rooms for our night in Laburge.
Thanks, Teddi. How exciting that your walk is coming soon! I enjoyed walking along the Douro, yes. I think the route I took turned out to be a nice mix of terrain and scenery, though as I noted in the blog some of the road sections are a little hairy :)

Love the photos/map on Relive. You write vividly, so reading you is as good as the video (and a nice change from the vlogworld ).
The Camino is full of encounters like the one with "Hans"; not always as positive, but always something to reflect on.
